TOXIC EX-BOYFRIEND FINED AFTER IGNORING COURT ORDER FOR WHATSAPP STALKING
A jealous man named Mohammed Safraz bombarded his former partner with WhatsApp messages, despite a court order prohibiting him from doing so.
The victim received 50 messages in a single night, where Safraz accused her of cheating and drug use.
Safraz contacted her repeatedly, including sending pictures and messages, even after being banned from contact by a non-molestation order issued by the family court.
Safraz, of Beagle Avenue in Beaumont Park, was in a relationship with the victim for ten years and they have three children together.
The court heard that the relationship was toxic, with Safraz being described as aggressive, very jealous, and unpredictable, which affected the victim's wellbeing.
He had previously breached a court order by contacting her and was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 court costs, and a £30 victim surcharge.
He pleaded guilty at Kirklees Magistrates' Court.
The court also acknowledged allegations of violence against Safraz, including one incident when the victim was pregnant.
Safraz's solicitor mentioned he was feeling low after the relationship ended and after losing his brother and mother.
The judge emphasized that he was repeatedly contacting the complainant, indicating a problematic relationship, and issued the penalty accordingly.
