Liverpool man jailed for murder of wife after admitted killing

A man who admitted to killing his wife in their Liverpool home has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years. Mohammed Azizi, aged 58 and an Iranian national, was convicted of murder after police responded to their residence in The Green on 25 November, where they found the victim, Malak Adabzadeh, dead. A post-mortem report revealed she had died due to head trauma. Malak Adabzadeh was remembered by her family as "generous, kind and always there to help anyone." Azizi, 58, of Stoneycroft, pleaded guilty to murder, and the court sentenced him accordingly..Det Insp John Holden from Merseyside Police expressed his sentiments: "Although no sentence can ever bring Malak back, I hope that the sentence will bring some sense of closure to her loved ones." He also emphasized the seriousness of domestic abuse, describing it as "an utterly shocking and reprehensible crime," adding that all reports are taken seriously and investigated with sensitivity. Regarding the investigation, two other men aged 21 and 46 who were arrested were later released with no further action.
