MOHAMMAD AND MUHAMMAD SHABBIR FROM COLINDALE ESCAPE JAIL AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULTS
In a recent development at Harrow Crown Court, Mohammad Imran Shabbir, aged 34, and his brother Muhammad Farhan Shabbir, aged 25, faced sentencing after being convicted of serious sexual offenses involving a young girl.The case drew significant attention due to the involvement of a former Metropolitan Police employee and the location of the crimes in Colindale, a district in northwest London.
According to court records, Mohammad Imran Shabbir was found guilty of assaulting a 13-year-old girl at an address in Colindale in May 2011.
The assault was part of a series of incidents that the court examined, revealing a disturbing pattern of abuse.
His brother, Muhammad Farhan Shabbir, was convicted of sexual assault committed between January and March of the same year, involving the same young victim.
The court heard detailed testimonies and evidence that led to their convictions.
Despite the gravity of their crimes, both men received relatively lenient sentences.
Mohammad Imran Shabbir was sentenced to a two-year community order, which requires him to complete 100 hours of community service.
Additionally, he is prohibited from making any contact with the victim, and he will be registered as a sex offender for a period of five years.
Similarly, Muhammad Farhan Shabbir received a two-year community order, with an obligation to perform 80 hours of community service, and he too is barred from contacting the girl.
His name will also be entered into the sex offenders register for five years.
Detective Constable Luke Williams, who is part of the Child Abuse Investigation Command, commented on the case, emphasizing the bravery of the young victim.
He stated, “The vulnerable young victim in this case showed great courage in coming forward,” highlighting the importance of victim support and the efforts of law enforcement in bringing offenders to justice.
It is noteworthy that both Mohammad and Muhammad Shabbir were acquitted of another sexual assault charge involving the same girl, which indicates that the court found insufficient evidence to convict them on that particular count.
Nonetheless, the convictions and sentences reflect the serious nature of the crimes committed and the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable individuals from abuse.
