Offender spared jail after guilty plea to bus sexual assault

A man named Mohammed Rahman, aged 25 from Rochester, was involved in a sexual assault incident on a bus. He boarded the 194 bus at St David's Close, West Wickham, and sat next to two schoolgirls aged 15 and 16 on the upper deck. He began kissing them and touching them sexually. Both victims moved away before getting off the bus at Elmers End Green, Elmers End. Rahman followed the victims for a short distance after they disembarked. He was later recognized in a West Wickham supermarket following a police appeal and was arrested. Rahman pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual touching on February 5 at Croydon Crown Court and was sentenced on April 18. He received a community order requiring 200 hours of unpaid work, was placed on the sex offenders register for five years, and ordered to pay each victim £100 in compensation.
