MOHAMED MOHAMOUD FROM UXBRIDGE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL SOLICITATION OF UNDERAGE GIRLS IN HAYES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Uxbridge and surrounding areas, Mohamed Mohamoud, a 31-year-old man from Uxbridge, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for attempting to lure underage girls into sexual encounters through social media. The offences took place over a period spanning 2015 and 2016, during which Mohamoud targeted vulnerable teenagers via Facebook, a popular social networking platform.Mohamoud managed to establish contact with three young girls, aged 14 and 15 at the time, by convincing them to share their phone numbers. His approach was predatory, as he offered promises of drugs, alcohol, and shopping trips in exchange for meeting up for sexual activities. His manipulative tactics aimed to exploit the innocence of these minors, and he showed no remorse for his actions, according to court reports.
The case came to light when a teacher at a secondary school in Hayes became suspicious after a 14-year-old girl confided in her about the messages she had exchanged online with Mohamoud. This revelation prompted an immediate police investigation, which uncovered that Mohamoud had contacted additional victims, all of whom were around the same age. The police traced the communications and identified two more girls who had been targeted by Mohamoud, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior.
During the trial at Isleworth Crown Court, the jury heard how Mohamoud deliberately sought out young females on Facebook, identifying potential victims before reaching out to them with the intent of engaging in sexual activity. His attempts to meet the girls were thwarted when law enforcement intervened, but the evidence presented was enough to secure a conviction.
Mohamoud was charged with two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of attempting to incite a child to commit sexual activity. Throughout the proceedings, he attempted to shift blame onto others, but the court found his actions to be deliberate and without remorse. His sentencing reflects the seriousness of his crimes and the need to protect minors from such predatory behavior.
