BLOXWICH MAN CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES ADMITS GUILT AND GETS SUSPENDED SENTENCE
A married man landed in court over child sex abuse images after making a confession to police raiding his home.Miroslaw Dobersztajn, 48, 'systematically searched' for vile content of children being sexually assaulted.
The 48-year-old had been drinking at home when he scoured the internet for illegal content of victims as young as six.
When police turned up at his door, he initially denied he was responsible.
It wasn't until his wife left the room that he admitted to officers what he really had been doing.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard how police received intelligence that a device connected to an IP address had either been possessing or sharing indecent images of children between August 29 and 30.
A warrant was executed at a property leased by the defendant on December 5.
Dobersztajn and his wife denied having any knowledge of the offences when asked by police.
His wife then fetched a computer from another room to hand over to officers.
Once she left, Dobersztajn admitted to accessing indecent images.
A total of 14 indecent images of children between the ages of six and 15 were found.
Searches were also made for 11 to 16-year-olds, with evidence of systematic searching.
Dobersztajn used peer-to-peer file sharing programs.
He claimed he was drinking when offending, was in shock over his actions the next morning, and denied sexual gratification from the images.
He admitted three counts of making indecent images.
He was handed an eight-month sentence, suspended for two years, with a 55-day rehabilitation requirement, £150 costs, and 100 hours unpaid work.
He is subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and must remain on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
Court said this was a short incident, and he has been given an opportunity for rehabilitation.
