WOMAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER BRUTAL MURDER IN SCALFORD
Michelle Mills has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Edward Miller. The incident occurred at their cottage in Scalford on November 6, during which Mills attacked Mr.
Miller with a knife 24 times.
Judge Heath stated that Mills did not succeed in misleading the jury, despite her claims of being a victim of domestic abuse and hearing voices that instructed her to attack her partner.
The assault was characterized as intense and relentless, with one injury measuring 22 centimeters deep.
The force used was significant enough to damage Miller’s bones, and the knife handle broke amid the attack.
While the judge acknowledged that Mills likely did not plan the killing beforehand, he believed her intention was to inflict serious harm rather than murder.
During the trial, Mills claimed to have been abducted by aliens, but psychological evaluations diagnosed her with an emotionally unstable personality disorder, specifically of the borderline type.
Judge Heath noted her lack of remorse and self-centered attitude.
The court also referenced her violent past, which includes previous knife-related incidents and tumultuous relationships.
Mills was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years before being eligible for parole.
