MICHAEL WARD FROM FELSTED ESCAPES JAIL AFTER HORRIFIC CHILD AND ANIMAL SEX ABUSE IMAGES REVEALED
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Felsted, Michael Ward, a 70-year-old resident of Stevens Lane, was found to possess a vast collection of illegal and highly disturbing images and videos involving child sexual abuse and extreme pornography involving animals. The investigation into Ward’s activities was initiated after authorities received information in November 2015, leading to a detailed search warrant executed on January 15 of the following year.During the search, Essex Police seized multiple electronic devices, including a computer and a USB stick, which contained a horrifying array of illicit material. The digital evidence uncovered included images and videos depicting young children being subjected to sexual acts by adults, with some images involving children as young as six months old. The material also included extreme pornography featuring animals, such as an octopus and an eel, engaged in sexual acts with humans.
Prosecutor Charlotte Davison outlined the severity of the case during the hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court. She revealed that search terms like “jail bait schoolgirl,” “jail bait gallery,” and “animal sex housewife” were used in Ward’s online activity, indicating a disturbing interest in both child exploitation and bestiality. The evidence also linked Ward’s searches to themes of torture, abuse, intoxication, and coercion, highlighting the depravity of his online behavior.
The police investigation uncovered a significant number of illicit images: 210 categorized as most severe (Category A), 251 in Category B, and 913 in Category C. Additionally, there were 29 videos depicting extreme acts, along with 27 extreme still images and 19 videos of similar nature. The sheer volume and disturbing content of these materials underscored the gravity of Ward’s offenses.
Judge Christopher Morgan addressed Ward directly during the sentencing, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions. He pointed out that Ward had been viewing these images for nearly a year, with a particular focus on the 210 Category A images involving children as young as six months old. The judge remarked on Ward’s understanding of the physical and psychological harm inflicted on the victims, noting that such material is viewed for sexual gratification.
In his sentencing, Ward received a 16-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years. He was also ordered to complete 30 days of rehabilitation, adhere to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, and remain on the sex offenders register for a decade. Additionally, Ward was required to pay costs amounting to £520. The court’s decision reflects the gravity of his crimes, though the sentence was suspended, allowing him to avoid immediate imprisonment under strict conditions.
