MAXEY MAN MICHAEL ROBB SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Maxey, Michael Robb, aged 62, has been sentenced to prison after engaging in heinous online conversations with an undercover police officer from Cambridgeshire. The incident, which unfolded over a period of several weeks, highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat online child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors.

Robb, a resident of Tucker’s Nook in Maxey, first came under suspicion in November 2020 when authorities deployed an undercover officer as part of an operation aimed at identifying individuals involved in the online distribution and discussion of indecent images of children. The police had received intelligence indicating that Robb was actively commenting on such illicit material via a chat application, prompting further investigation.

During the covert operation, Robb engaged in conversations with the officer, during which he made alarming statements about his intentions. He explicitly expressed a desire to sexually abuse an 11-year-old girl, whom he falsely claimed was the officer’s daughter. In a series of disturbing exchanges, Robb sent photographs of himself and requested to see images of the fictional child, revealing his depraved mindset and intent.

Further incriminating evidence emerged when Robb created an account on Snapchat, a popular instant messaging platform, where he continued to communicate with the officer. He explicitly stated his interest in meeting the girl and carrying out the abuse, demonstrating a clear plan to commit these acts. The conversations, which took place between November 21 and December 4, also included Robb sending nine indecent images, further evidencing his involvement in child exploitation.

Robb’s criminal activities came to a halt when he was arrested at his residence on April 8, 2021. Following his arrest, he was taken into custody and subsequently charged with multiple offenses related to child sexual abuse and the distribution of illicit images of children.

On Wednesday, April 26, at Peterborough Crown Court, Robb pleaded guilty to facilitating the commission of a child sex offense and to the distribution of indecent images of children. His guilty plea led to a sentencing that reflects the severity of his crimes. The court sentenced him to two years and eight months in prison. Additionally, Robb was handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his activities and prevent further offenses in the future.
