STALKER WHO SHARED INTIMATE PICTURE OF WOMAN WITHOUT HER PERMISSION JAILED

A stalker who shared an intimate picture of a woman without her consent has been sent to prison for two weeks.

He pleaded guilty to stalking the woman without fear/alarm and distress in July of last year and sharing a photograph of the woman in an intimate state without her consent on February 3 this year.

The stalking charge specified that between July 1, 2024 and February 26, 2025 in Camborne, Pengelly pursued a course of conduct which amounted to stalking, including harassment by repeatedly making unwanted phone calls, attending the victim’s address, following her on multiple occasions, and installing a camera twice in her home.

Magistrates sentenced him to ten weeks in prison because the offence was considered very serious, requiring custodial punishment.

Pengelly was also given a restraining order until April 14, 2027, not to contact the woman or enter her street.

He was ordered to pay £500 prosecution costs and a surcharge of £154.

For sharing the intimate photograph, he received an additional two-week sentence that ran concurrently, again due to the deliberate and pre-meditated nature of the offence which had a serious impact on the victim.
