ABERDEEN OFFENDER THREATENS POLICEWOMAN WITH MURDER AND RAPE
Michael Masson, aged 27, was involved in a disturbing incident in Portlethen on August 25 of the previous year.He threatened a policewoman by claiming he had been watching her and knew her address, leaving her visibly shaken.
According to reports from Aberdeen Sheriff Court, Masson hurled vile insults, made chilling threats, and repeatedly shouted and swore at the officer, calling her derogatory names such as a 'lesbian f***** s***'.
He threatened to follow her home and commit acts of extreme violence, stating he wanted to 'rape and murder her and any children she had.' The court also heard that Masson was extremely aggressive during his arrest, elbowing an officer, spat at him twice, and made homophobic comments while in the police van.
He continued his tirade during the journey to the station, making threats to harm the officers and their families.
Once at the police station, his conduct remained highly disturbing — he bit a male officer during a search, and outside the cell, he continued threatening violence, including biting the officer's thigh, kicking, hitting his head off the cage, and attempting to headbutt an officer.
His behavior was described as the worst experienced by one of the officers in 17 years.
Masson pleaded guilty to assault, assault causing injury, and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
His defense argued that he suffers from mental health issues exacerbated by poor coping mechanisms and that he is working on reducing his alcohol intake.
The sentencing has been deferred until January next year by Sheriff Morag McLaughlin.
