LEWIS MAN ADMITS ASSAULTING PARTNER UNDER PROVOCATION WHILE ON BAIL
An Inverness man now residing on the Isle of Lewis, Michael MacBeath, faced court after admitting to assaulting his partner.
He did not appear in person at Inverness Sheriff Court, but his solicitor advocate Clare Russell entered a guilty plea on his behalf, citing that the act was 'under provocation'.
The incident occurred on July 26 of the previous year at a house in Culduthel Mains Circle, where MacBeath physically assaulted the woman by punching her in the head, pushing her, and cornering her while seizing her by the throat.
The charge detailed that he applied pressure to her neck, which restricted her breathing, causing her injury.
At the time of the assault, MacBeath was on bail.
The court deferred sentencing until December 10, pending a background report and an assessment for a domestic offender's rehabilitation programme.
