WORRIED FAMILY FOUND MUM DEAD IN BED AFTER HUSBAND KILLED HER
Michael Davies, aged 57, denies that he murdered his wife, Tracey Davies, who was 48 years old.During the court proceedings, he admitted to killing her through strangulation but claimed he was unaware of what was happening at the time.
The incident came to light after family members expressed concern when she missed a concert and did not reply to their messages.
Davies sustained injuries including cuts and a stab wound, and he confessed to police that he had killed her by strangling her between 7:30 a.m.
and 8 a.m.
on April 18 at their residence on Bryn Terrace, Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend.
He also made an attempt to take his own life, feeling overwhelmed and experiencing suicidal thoughts.
The postmortem report confirmed that her death resulted from neck pressure with force or manual application.
Evidence presented at the trial includes Davies’ mental health issues, prior searches related to paranoia, and a history of mental health problems following his return from Abu Dhabi, where he worked as a security guard.
The case remains before Newport Crown Court.
