MICHAEL COYLE FROM LIVINGSTON IN SCOTLAND INVOLVED IN HORRIFIC CRIMES INCLUDING RAPE AND BRUTAL ASSAULTS
In a case that has shocked the community of Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland, Michael Coyle, a 39-year-old man, has been accused of committing a series of heinous crimes involving violence, sexual assault, and racial abuse. The allegations detail a campaign of brutality that has left the victim and her family deeply traumatized.According to court reports, Coyle violently assaulted a woman, subjecting her to a brutal rape. During the attack, he used a craft knife to carve offensive words such as 's**t' and other racial slurs onto her body. The severity of the injuries was compounded by his physical assault, which included rubbing her face against a rough wall and rugby tackling her to the ground, resulting in her losing four teeth. The attack was described as both violent and degrading, with the jury being told that Coyle's actions left the victim with lasting physical scars.
Further details revealed that Coyle's assault extended beyond the woman. He also attempted to rape her teenage daughter, who was approximately 12 or 13 years old at the time. The court heard that Coyle's abuse was not limited to the victim alone; he also assaulted two of her sons. During these assaults, he brandished a knife at them and punched one of the boys in the face, actions that the judge described as part of a 'harrowing' series of events.
During the trial, the jury was presented with graphic evidence of Coyle's brutality. It was reported that he carved the word 'slut' into the woman's thigh, 'whore' into her arm, and inscribed words like 'old' and 'saggy' on her breasts. Additionally, he wrote 'FAT' across her stomach. The court also heard that Coyle had sent disturbing messages from her Facebook account, asking a photographer if he had flirted with her and whether he was interested in her, further illustrating his manipulative behavior.
One of the most distressing accounts was provided by the victim herself, who described how Coyle assaulted her while she was lying on a couch. She recounted that he began hitting her in the face with his manhood, making degrading remarks such as 'This is what you want, isn't it, you little slut?' and kicked her in the stomach. Despite her attempts to escape, he pushed her back onto the couch, continued his assault, and forcibly inserted himself inside her until he finished. She described her desperate attempt to flee, which was thwarted when he rugby tackled her to the floor, shattering her teeth and causing significant injury.
The victim's daughter, now aged 18, also testified, revealing that Coyle had sexually assaulted her when she was around 12 or 13 years old. She described an incident where he attempted to insert his penis into her mouth, adding to the list of his disturbing actions.
In the political arena, Coyle had previously stood as a candidate for the British National Party (BNP) in Glasgow South during the 2010 Westminster elections, but he received only 637 votes and was unsuccessful. He also ran as a National Front candidate for the Scottish Parliament in the Linlithgow constituency in 2011, where he garnered 558 votes, but again failed to secure a seat.
Currently, Coyle is in custody awaiting sentencing at the High Court in Livingston. His appearance via videolink from Addiewell Prison was marked by delays, as the court was informed that no one had contacted him for a criminal justice social work report. His defense lawyer, Mark Stewart QC, emphasized that the lack of contact was not Coyle's fault and expressed his client's eagerness to proceed with sentencing. A new date has been set for 6 September at Edinburgh High Court, where the case will be revisited once the report is available.
Judge Alison Stirling, who described the case as 'complex and harrowing,' adjourned the proceedings, noting the importance of the social work report for sentencing. She also highlighted disturbing messages Coyle sent from her Facebook account, which included flirtatious and suggestive comments, as well as a report of him hitting her in the face with his manhood and making degrading remarks during the assault. The judge expressed hope that the report would be ready for the next hearing, emphasizing the seriousness of the crimes committed by Coyle in Livingston and the surrounding areas.
