MEHDI FROM RINKEBY INVOLVED IN HORRIFIC GANG RAPE IN SWEDEN

In a chilling case that has shocked the Swedish community, a young man named Mehdi, originally from the Arab world and residing in Järfälla, was linked to a brutal gang rape that took place in the Rinkeby area. The incident, which occurred in 2014, involved a group of between five and eight men who abducted a teenage girl and subjected her to multiple forms of sexual assault at a holiday home located in Järvafältet, an area surrounded by the neighborhoods of Husby, Rinkeby, and Tensta.

According to court records and the victim’s detailed testimony, the assault was particularly violent and terrifying. The girl was held captive by the gang, who raped her vaginally and orally. During the assault, one of the attackers pressed a pistol or a similar weapon into her mouth and vagina, threatening her with death if she did not comply. The victim described the horrifying experience, stating that the pistol was shoved between her legs and forced inside her, causing her immense pain and bleeding. She recounted feeling as if her vulva was being torn apart and believed she was on the verge of death, overwhelmed by fear and trauma.

The attackers continued their assault after the initial rape, dragging her into a car and taking her to a basement on Ljungplan in Rinkeby. There, the violence persisted with threats of violence and further rapes, both vaginal and oral. The girl managed to call her father early in the morning, bleeding heavily and describing her location in Rinkeby. Her father immediately began searching for her and eventually found her in a bloodied state, which confirmed the severity of her injuries.

In the aftermath of the assault, three men in their twenties were convicted in 2014 of aggravated rape. The case drew significant attention due to the brutality involved and the young age of the victim. However, in 2020, authorities identified a new suspect, Mehdi, who was then 22 years old and living in Järfälla. It was revealed that Mehdi was originally from the Arab world and had previously been involved in criminal activities, including scamming older individuals out of money. Forensic DNA evidence, including semen found on the victim’s lips, linked Mehdi to the 2014 case.

Mehdi was arrested and initially sentenced to one year in prison for aggravated rape. However, after an appeal and retrial at the Solna District Court, his sentence was reduced to 200 hours of community service. The court acknowledged that, given the gravity of the crime, a five-year sentence would have been more appropriate. Nonetheless, the court considered Mehdi’s young age at the time of the offense and the fact that six years had passed since the incident, which influenced the decision. The court also noted that since Mehdi holds Swedish citizenship, deportation was not an option under current laws. The ruling was unanimous, signed by Rådmannen Louise Conradi, who emphasized the unusual circumstances of the case and the importance of considering the context of Mehdi’s age and the passage of time.
