SHOP WORKER JAILED FOR ASSAULTING GIRL IN STORE
A shop employee in Nottingham has been convicted and sentenced to prison after sexually abusing a young girl inside the store.Matthew Harrison, 32 years old, reportedly lured the girl away from her father at a location on Mansfield Road in January, police confirmed.
According to authorities, he touched her twice actions that were recorded on CCTV footage before returning her to her guardians.
Harrison admitted to two charges of assaulting a girl under 13 years old, and was sentenced to three years in prison at Nottingham Crown Court.
He was also ordered to serve an additional five years on licence.
Residing on Kenrick Street in Netherfield, Harrison was said to have enticed the girl described as of primary school age by promising to help her find a favourite treat.
The young girl disclosed the incident to her parents, prompting her arrest.
A police search of his home revealed significant evidence of a sexual interest in young children, law enforcement officials stated.
Det Con Kirsty Ford of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was an appalling incident that caused considerable upset to the victim and her family.
Harrison knew exactly what he was doing on that day and must now live with the consequences.
"As he starts a richly-deserved prison sentence I would like to pay tribute to the victim's parents for the strength, determination and dignity they have shown through this incredibly upsetting process."
