BRITISH MAN MATTHEW HARLAND SENTENCED IN PHNOM PENH FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING UNDERAGE GIRLS

A court in Cambodia has handed down a significant prison sentence to a British national named Matthew Harland, aged 38, following his conviction on serious charges related to sexual misconduct involving minors.

The court found Harland guilty of engaging in sexual acts with two underage girls and of purchasing sex from them, actions that have sparked concern and increased scrutiny over foreign offenders operating within Cambodia.

Harland’s arrest took place in Phnom Penh last year, marking a pivotal moment in Cambodia’s ongoing efforts to combat the exploitation of vulnerable children by foreign nationals.
