MATTHEW DUNN FROM COMBERTON JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Comberton, Matthew Dunn, aged 24, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison after authorities uncovered a cache of highly disturbing child abuse images on his electronic devices. The investigation was initiated when police received information indicating that Dunn had uploaded illicit images depicting the sexual abuse of young children.Further evidence emerged when a third party uploaded additional images to a Dropbox account linked directly to Dunn, raising serious concerns about his ongoing involvement in the distribution of such material. This prompted law enforcement to take swift action to address the situation.
Detective Constable Paul Baysting commented on the case, stating, “Dunn clearly didn’t learn his lesson following an initial conviction and continued downloading and distributing this horrendous material.” His words underscore the troubling pattern of behavior exhibited by Dunn, who appeared to persist in his illegal activities despite previous legal consequences.
In November, police executed a search warrant at Dunn’s residence on Swaynes Lane in Comberton. During the raid, officers seized two mobile phones belonging to Dunn, which were subsequently examined. The devices contained a total of 377 images and videos classified as indecent or prohibited under law, with 76 of these categorized as Category A – the most severe and explicit type of child abuse material.
Adding to the gravity of the case, Dunn’s failure to cooperate with authorities was evident when he refused to grant access to his Dropbox account. This refusal was a breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that had been imposed on him in December 2016, following his previous conviction for making and possessing indecent images of children.
During court proceedings, Dunn admitted to multiple charges, including distributing an indecent photo of a child, three counts of making indecent images of a child, possessing a prohibited image of a child, and breaching the terms of his SHPO. His actions have not only led to his imprisonment but have also caused significant concern among residents of Comberton and the wider community, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by individuals involved in the distribution of child abuse material.
