CHESHIRE MAN JAILED FOR STALKING EX-PARTNER AFTER BREAK-UP
A MAN who stalked his ex-partner for more than a month after their two-year relationship broke down has been jailed.
Warrington Magistrates Court heard these voicemails, which were 'abusive' and 'derogatory', were sent from several numbers, in addition to multiple messages on social media.
Prosecutor Lisa Maguire said that there were times when the 36-year-old, of Holmes Chapel Road, was waiting outside the victim's workplace between July and August this year.
After arrest attempts, he sent the victim two further voicemails with threats, telling her to drop dead and that she had a marker on her back.
Douglas pleaded guilty to one count of stalking on August 18, and a month later was sentenced to eight months in prison along with a restraining order for five years, barring him from contacting the victim or visiting an address in Biddulph, Staffordshire.
