MATTHEW DAWSON FROM SOULBURY SENTENCED TO 20 MONTHS FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

In a significant case stemming from Buckinghamshire, Matthew Dawson, a 31-year-old resident of Leighton Road, Soulbury, has been handed a prison sentence of 20 months after admitting to serious crimes involving the creation and distribution of indecent images of children.

The proceedings took place at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday, March 27, where Dawson pleaded guilty to two separate charges. These charges included the distribution of photographs, pseudo-photographs, and videos depicting children in indecent circumstances, as well as the creation of such material. The offences spanned a period from 2010 to 2015, highlighting a prolonged period of criminal activity.

Following his arrest on May 20, 2015, Dawson was formally charged on December 28 of the following year. The investigation was led by Thames Valley Police, with PC Maureen More playing a key role in the case. She expressed her stance on the matter, condemning the offences but also acknowledging the judicial outcome.

PC More stated, “I am pleased that Dawson has been jailed for these offences against children and that he will be on the Sex Offenders register for 10 years on his release.” Her comments underscore the seriousness with which law enforcement treats such crimes and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse.
