CAERGEILIOG MAN JAILED FOR GROOMING TEENAGE GIRL
A 24-year-old male named Matthew Cai Pritchard has received a four-year prison sentence for grooming a teenage girl.He appeared at Mold Crown Court after admitting to multiple charges, including four counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of sexual communication with a child.
During the course of the offences, Pritchard, who was between 18 and 19 years old at the time, sent messages to the girl via social media when she was aged between 13 to 16.
Subsequently, he met her in person, provided her with alcohol, and engaged in sexual acts.
He also made her pose for intimate photographs.
Additionally, Pritchard was ordered to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order to safeguard the victim.
Detective Constable Sarah Jones commented that Pritchard groomed and manipulated a vulnerable young girl when he was an adult, which had a devastating impact on her life.
She praised the victim's bravery and expressed hope that the sentence would aid her in moving forward.
Jones urged others to come forward if they had been victims of child sexual abuse, assuring them they would be supported and protected.
