SOMERSHAM MAN ADMITS TO MAKING INDECENT IMAGES OF A CHILD

A 39-year-old man has confessed to producing hundreds of indecent photographs of a minor.

Mathew Cooksey, from Somersham, appeared in court charged with three counts related to creating images classified as Category A, Category B, and Category C, with Category A being the most serious.

The charges allege that Cooksey produced 356 images in Category A, 225 in Category B, and 733 in Category C by or before October 26, 2022.

According to the courts service, he pleaded guilty when he appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on May 9, 2024.

His case was subsequently transferred to Cambridge Crown Court for a hearing scheduled on June 10.
