WELLING WOMAN SEXUALLY ENGAGES TEEN IN CORNWALL, SENTENCED SUSPENDED JAIL TERM
A woman named Mary Ann Molloy, aged 36, from Plymstock Road in Welling, South East London, has been sentenced after engaging in sexual activity with a teenage boy.The court heard that Molloy became suspicious after catching her family friend undressed in a room from which her teenage son had just fled.
She then encouraged the boy to kiss and touch her sexually at their home in Cornwall.
Molloy pleaded guilty to one count of inciting a boy to engage in sexual activity and one of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a boy.
It was revealed that her offending involved a single incident when she was 33, during which she had sexual relations with a 15-year-old.
The prosecution detailed how the victim's mother began to suspect Molloy's behavior when she saw her son running out of a room and found Molloy undressed.
Molloy also offered the boy alcohol and tobacco to influence him.
Despite her actions, the court noted she had no prior convictions, cautions, or warnings and was not considered a threat to the public.
Judge James Adkin sentenced her to nine months in custody, suspended for two years, and ordered her to complete 200 hours of community service.
A restraining order will be in place for seven years.
The court emphasized the anxiety caused to the victim due to her conduct, highlighting that Molloy encouraged the boy to perform sex acts on her.
