Milton Keynes Rapist Child Sexual Abuser
Martyn Bragg, a man aged 66 from Granes End, Milton Keynes, has been convicted of multiple sexual offences committed over almost a decade. His crimes, which took place between 1978 and 1986 in Hemel Hempstead and nearby areas, involved rape, indecent assault, and conspiracy to procure a miscarriage. The victim was a young girl under 14 years old at the time. Following a trial at St Albans Crown Court, Bragg was sentenced to 23 years in prison. A magistrate described his actions as part of a "truly horrific campaign of abuse" and ordered that he serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before being eligible for parole. He was also mandated to register on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely and was subject to restraining and Sexual Harm Prevention Orders. A police spokesperson highlighted her bravery in reporting these crimes, which had a lasting impact on her. Additionally, Bragg’s 95-year-old father, Dennis Bragg, was convicted of conspiracy to procure a miscarriage and received a two-year suspended sentence. Hertfordshire Constabulary encourages victims of sexual abuse to come forward regardless of when the offences occurred and provides specialized support and advice.
