MAN JAILED FOR RAPING TEENAGER IN HER HOME
A man convicted of raping a teenage girl in her home has received a ten-year prison sentence.Martin Hancill, aged 40 and a resident of Corfe Mullen, was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Tuesday, December 9, for charges including rape and sexual assault.
In addition to his prison term, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for an indefinite period.
The offence occurred on the evening of Monday, October 24, 2022, when Hancill visited the victim's residence and committed the assault.
The teenage girl, who knew Hancill, had been communicating with him through text messages in the days leading up to the incident.
The police were informed shortly after the assault, and Hancill was arrested within hours.
During police interviews, he denied the allegations.
However, forensic analysis of the crime scene and text message exchanges between the victim and Hancill provided substantial evidence confirming the assaults.
Hancill was charged and went to trial at Bournemouth Crown Court, which began on September 8.
The jury ultimately found him guilty of both rape and sexual assault.
