MARK REYNOLDS INNSWORTH SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR ABUSING MINOR NEAR GLOUCESTER

In a case that has shocked the local community of Innsworth near Gloucester, Mark Reynolds, a man aged 38, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison after admitting to serious sexual offenses involving a minor. The court heard that Reynolds had engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with a girl when she was just 14 years old, and the case came to light after the victim herself confronted him years later.

According to court proceedings, the victim, now 22, reported Reynolds to the police after discovering his identity and feeling compelled to seek justice for the trauma she endured during her mid-teen years. The court was informed that Reynolds, who resides on Innsworth Lane in Innsworth, had known the girl for some time prior to the offenses. It was revealed that she would sometimes visit his family home, which played a significant role in the circumstances leading to the abuse.

Prosecutor Kannan Siva detailed that during one such visit, when Reynolds’ wife was away from home, he took advantage of the situation. Reynolds allegedly bought alcohol for the girl, who was underage, and got her intoxicated. Once she was drunk, he took her to his bedroom where he engaged in full sexual intercourse with her. The court emphasized that the girl was a virgin at the time, and Reynolds, as an adult, should have recognized the gravity of his actions and the trust placed in him.

Further, the court learned that another incident occurred as the girl approached her sixteenth birthday in May 2007. During this visit to Reynolds’ home, he again took her to his bedroom and engaged in sexual activity, this time involving full intercourse once more. These repeated offenses highlighted a pattern of predatory behavior.

It was only in August of the previous year that the victim, burdened by these memories, reached out to Reynolds via Facebook. She sent him a message, which she described as an attempt to confront her past and seek closure after many years of suffering in silence. This message ultimately led to the police investigation and Reynolds’ subsequent arrest.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC addressed the court, condemning Reynolds’ actions and warning others about the consequences of exploiting young girls. He stated, “Men who take advantage of young girls in this way can only expect severe punishment.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable minors and holding offenders accountable for their crimes.
