MAN JAILED FOR FOUR YEARS AND SEVEN MONTHS FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING THREE WOMEN
A 36-year-old man from Evercreech was convicted of sexually assaulting three women in the towns of Street and Shepton Mallet.The assaults occurred within a three-month span, and the offender received his sentencing at Taunton Crown Court in April.
The first attack took place on June 5, 2018, when the man assaulted a woman on Somerton Road in Street.
He pushed her against a wall and subjected her to a sexual assault before fleeing the scene after she shouted for him to stop.
Approximately a month later, in July, an 18-year-old woman was targeted shortly after leaving a supermarket.
The attacker grabbed her around the neck and pulled her backward.
She fought him off and ran home, where her mother contacted the police.
The third incident occurred in August in Shepton Mallet, involving a 20-year-old woman who was out jogging.
The attacker grabbed her around the throat and pulled her to the ground.
The victim resisted and was able to escape.
