MARK HOLLICK OF HOLBURY SENTENCED AFTER ADMITTING POSSESSING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A convicted sex offender provided a fake address to law enforcement after confessing to possessing a collection of indecent images, a court has been told.
Hampshire police acted on intelligence indicating that Mark Hollick, 53, of Southbourne Avenue in Holbury, had accessed numerous files containing indecent images of children, Southampton Crown Court heard.
This information led to his arrest in April 2024 and the confiscation of his electronic devices.
Prosecutor Grace Coupland revealed that authorities discovered 38 images classified as category A, 23 as category B, and 61 as category C, including five classified as 'extreme.' During police questioning, Hollick responded with "no comment" and later admitted to three counts of making indecent images and two counts of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
He was also required to update police with his current address but provided a false one, which he had not lived at for the past 12 years.
The court sentenced him to an 18-month community order, which includes up to 30 rehabilitation sessions and a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
The judge highlighted the damaging impact of viewing such images and stressed the need to prevent child abuse.
