CHILD SEX OFFENDER MARK HEWITT HANDED SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR DELETING CONTENT FROM DATING SITE
A CHILD sex offender has been handed a suspended prison sentence for deleting content from an online dating website.Mark Hewitt, 37, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on January 27 after previously admitting to breaching the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The charge states Hewitt, of Egerton Court, deleted the contents from the application Badoo without the express consent of his police offender manager in October last year.
Hewitt was prohibited from doing this as part of a five-year SHPO imposed by Preston Crown Court after admitting three counts of making indecent images of children.
He admitted making 989 category C images, 123 Category B pictures of 149 Category A images.
His Honour Judge Richard Gioserano sentenced the defendant to four months suspended for two years with one requirement of completing 100 hours of unpaid work.
The sentencing judge also kept the current notification requirements and SHPO in place for five years.
