MARK FOWLER SENTENCED IN LEYBOURNE FOR CHILD EXPLOITATION OFFENSES
| Red Rose Database
Leyboune Child Sexual Abuser
In April 2017, Mark Fowler relocated to Swanage in Dorset.
In May 2014, Fowler was sentenced to two years in prison after being convicted of posing as a woman online and encouraging a man to abuse a child via webcam.
The pervert, 44 years old at the time, was arrested in June of the previous year when police raided his home on The Rushes, Leybourne, and found evidence linking him to the crime.
Investigators discovered that Fowler had created a fake online profile claiming to be a 39-year-old woman with a 15-year-old daughter. He engaged in sexualised conversations about child abuse, including asking a man in America on an instant messaging platform to allow a child to be abused on camera.
During police interviews, Fowler admitted that others had sent him indecent images but stated he was not interested in them.
He faced multiple charges, including seven counts of making indecent images of children, one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and one count of distributing an indecent image.
Fowler, who has since moved out of Leybourne, pleaded guilty to the charges on Monday, March 3.
As part of his sentence, he will be subject to a sexual offences prevention order.
DC Mark Bennett from Kent Police commented, “Fowler wasn’t satisfied with just looking at images of children being abused; he actively encouraged another to abuse their own child. I am grateful that the child exploitation investigation team was able to put a stop to this, and working with colleagues in the USA, we are taking steps to protect another child from further abuse.”
