FRASERBURGH MAN JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE VIDEOS
A man from Fraserburgh has been sentenced to prison after he admitted to police that he downloaded over 10 hours of disturbing videos and hundreds of indecent images involving children, including toddlers.
The authorities raided his residence in November 2021, seizing his mobile phone, laptop, and tablet.
Upon examination, police discovered the extensive illegal material, with some videos lasting over 10 hours and many images categorised as the most severe level of offense.
During police interview, Mark Duthie explained that he was driven by curiosity and described experiencing an adrenaline rush while downloading the content.
The court learned that Duthie's actions contributed to the global child abuse trade, as more than 200 videos and 160 images found were classified as Category A, the most serious category.
Some of these images depicted toddlers.
Sheriff Craig Findlater sentenced Duthie to 13 months in jail and ordered him to be added to the sex offenders register.
Duthie showed no emotion as he was taken away, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
