ABERDEEN MAN JAILED FOR STRANGLING WOMAN DURING SEX
Mark Bruce, a 32-year-old who worked as a support worker, has been convicted of causing the death of a woman he had recently met.The incident involved Bruce strangling the woman during an act of sexual activity, which led to her demise.
Chloe Miazek, 20 years old, was found dead in her flat located in the Rosemount Viaduct area of Aberdeen in November of the previous year.
It was established during court proceedings that Bruce engaged in placing his hands around Miazek’s neck during sex, a maneuver that resulted in her death.
He admitted to a charge of culpable homicide and was sentenced to serve six years behind bars at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The judge, Lord Kinclaven, noted that the only fitting sentence was incarceration, highlighting the gravity of the crime.
Miazek's family issued a heartfelt tribute, describing her as a thoughtful, caring, and intelligent young woman who was dearly loved.
They also shared that she worked at Tesco in Inverurie and was a waitress at a local café, bringing attention to her innocence and the tragic end of her promising life.
