Wales Sexual Abuser
Mark Bridger was sentenced to life imprisonment with a whole life tariff after being convicted of the murder of five-year-old April Jones. The judgment was delivered in May 2013, following a jury at Mold Crown Court finding him guilty of abducting and killing April, whose remains he subsequently disposed of. During the sentencing, Mr Justice Griffith Williams described Bridger as a "pathological liar" and a "paedophile". The judge stated, "There is no doubt in my mind that you are a paedophile, who has for some time harboured sexual and morbid fantasies about young girls." He also revealed that Bridger had stored on his laptop images of both pre-pubescent and pubescent girls, along with disturbing pornography depicting the gross sexual abuse of young children. Bridger became only the 32nd individual in UK history to be handed a whole life order after being found guilty of murder.
