Lanarkshire Sexual Abuser
A man named Marc Corrieri, aged 30, known for offering entertainment services at stag and hen parties, has recently been subjected to legal restrictions following a disturbing incident in Lanarkshire. Corrieri, who is notably short at just 4 feet 2 inches tall, was placed under a curfew and monitoring after an alarming encounter involving a teenage runner.
The incident took place in the vicinity of Strathaven, Lanarkshire, when Corrieri was seen driving alongside a 17-year-old girl who was on a solo jog along a country road. According to reports, the teenage girl was engaged in her exercise routine when Corrieri’s manner raised her suspicion and fear. His actions prompted her to contact the police, alarmed by his persistent presence and behaviour.
Following the report, Corrieri appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court, where he pleaded guilty to charges of acting in a threatening or abusive manner in June 2020. The court's decision included placing him under a six-month tagging order, which involved electronic monitoring of his whereabouts. Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen emphasized that Corrieri could have faced imprisonment, signaling the seriousness of the offence.
The sheriff also mandated that Corrieri adhere to a curfew restricting his movements between 5pm and 5am daily. This measure was specifically implemented to safeguard individuals engaged in typical activities such as jogging during early evening hours, especially in rural or semi-rural parts of Lanarkshire where such incidents could pose a real threat.
In addition to the curfew, Corrieri was ordered to be under supervision for a period of one year. Sheriff MacFadyen commented on the incident, stating, “I’m quite satisfied that this was a terrifying incident and due to your record, custody is certainly an option.” He further explained that the restriction hours were chosen in recognition of the common use of the area by joggers and individuals out for evening exercise, highlighting the need to protect the public from such disturbing behaviour.
Corrieri’s background includes working with the Buff Butlers events firm, where he dressed up as various characters, including a £150-an-hour Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl's adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. However, his employment was marred by prior allegations and legal issues. In September 2014, he was ordered to perform 240 hours of unpaid community service and was required to register as a sex offender for three years after being caught attempting to solicit schoolgirls for sex.
In a previous interview, Corrieri expressed his passion for entertainment work, stating that he enjoyed dressing up as characters such as Superman or Oompa Loompa, and engaging in social activities with colleagues. He also outlined strict personal rules to maintain his dignity, including prohibitions against physical contact, tampering with drinks, usage of certain offensive words like ‘midget,’ and involving police in his affairs.
This recent incident underscores ongoing concerns about public safety and appropriate boundaries, particularly in rural Lanarkshire communities where individuals like Corrieri have previously troubled residents and authorities alike.
