MAN SUBJECTED EX-PARTNERS TO 'TSUNAMI OF HARASSMENT'
Luke Grenney, 37, from Saltash, caused significant distress to two women after their relationships with him ended, fueled by his inability to cope with rejection. After being told their relationships were over, Grenney bombarded them with constant messages via text, voice, Facebook, and threats.
In July last year, following a breakup with a local woman that led to his aggression, Grenney stole her car and threw out her belongings.
He returned armed with petrol, threatening to set her car alight while she hid inside her home, frightened.
Over four months, he stalked her by calling, messaging, following her home, and emotionally blackmailing her—threatening self-harm if she did not re-engage, and even threatening violence involving her or her children.
Fearing for her safety, she changed her locks, prompting police to arrest Grenney.
Despite bail and police warnings, his harassment persisted both directly and indirectly.
He was re-arrested and then targeted another woman with similar behavior shortly after their relationship ended.
During two weeks in April, Grenney followed her in his car, made relentless calls and messages, and appeared unannounced at her house.
His threatening conduct escalated when he tailgated her across the Tamar Bridge, causing her to fear a serious attempt to harm her.
Police stopped Grenney at Carkeel, where 5.1 grams of cannabis were discovered in his vehicle.
He faced multiple charges, including threats to damage property, stalking, threatening violence, and drug possession.
Pleading guilty in April, he also admitted to breaching a previous conditional discharge.
With a history of 11 convictions and 17 offenses, he was sentenced to over two years in prison, with a ten-year restraining order to prevent contact with both women.
