DRUNKEN PLYMOUTH MAN JAILED AFTER BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER
An alcoholic bully named Luke Evans, aged 40, was sentenced to jail after he breached his suspended prison term by meeting his ex-partner.He previously assaulted her, leaving her battered and bruised, and caused one of her teeth to loosen, mocking her for the injury which left her with a lisp.
Evans was given help to address his drinking through a suspended sentence and was ordered to stay away from his victim.
However, within six weeks, he was seen twice with her in a group of street drinkers, violating his restraining order and suspended sentence.
He pleaded guilty to breaching the order and obstructing police.
Evans, from Greenbank, was sentenced to 16 months in prison by Judge Simon Carr, who emphasized that this was his last chance after being previously sentenced for a serious assault where he beat his partner, leaving her with numerous bruises.
The court heard that in a prior incident, Evans pulled his partner by her hair and assaulted her, resulting in a suspended 18-month prison sentence and a three-year restraining order to prevent contact.
Evans also admitted to breaching the restraining order and obstructing arresting officers during the recent offense.
