PLYMOUTH TEENAGER SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A 19-year-old Plymouth teenager named Luke Braun was sentenced to 27 months in jail after he was convicted of walking into a woman's home and sexually assaulting her.The incident occurred on March 17, 2022, when Braun, with bloodshot eyes and smelling of cannabis, entered the victim's house through the kitchen.
The victim, who was distressed, found Braun inside and told her child to go into another room.
Braun then touched her, grabbed her breasts, and said he would 'pay her.' He also dropped his trousers and underwear, forcing her to touch his genitals.
The victim tearfully recounted her experience in court, revealing she felt anxious, fearful, and had lost over three stone due to the trauma.
Braun later confessed to his mother about the assault, which led her to threaten calling the police.
In response, Braun threw a brick through her window.
He was arrested five days after the attack and faced charges including sexual assault, criminal damage, and assault.
The court noted Braun struggled with mental health issues and was remorseful, though the assault was extremely serious and caused significant distress to the victim.
The judge imposed a 10-year restraining order banning Braun from contacting her.
