RAINOW SEX OFFENDER LUC ROTH SENTENCED AFTER BREAK-IN AND DISTURBING INCIDENT IN MACCLESFIELD

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Luc Roth, a known sex offender from Rainow, was sentenced to a significant prison term following a series of alarming events that took place in Macclesfield. The incident began on June 10, 2019, when Roth, then 62 years old, unlawfully entered the home of an elderly woman at approximately 1.20pm. The vulnerable pensioner, who was at home during the intrusion, was subjected to a distressing ordeal when Roth engaged her in conversation before exposing himself and performing a sexual act in her presence. This act of indecency left the elderly victim deeply shaken and emotionally distressed, highlighting the severity of Roth's actions.

According to court proceedings, Roth's behavior was interrupted when a neighbour, hearing voices emanating from the elderly woman's residence, decided to check on her safety. Upon discovering Roth inside the property, the neighbour confronted him, prompting Roth to flee the scene in a van. In his attempt to escape, Roth drove recklessly, nearly hitting the neighbour with his vehicle, which could have resulted in serious injury. The incident underscored the dangerous and unpredictable nature of Roth's actions during the escape.

Following his arrest, Roth pleaded guilty to charges of trespass with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence, as well as to driving without due care. His sentencing took place at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, February 25, where he was handed a 50-month prison sentence. In addition to his incarceration, Roth was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely and was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, measures designed to protect the community from further harm. The case has raised concerns about the safety of vulnerable individuals and the importance of vigilant community oversight in preventing such incidents from occurring in the future.
