BORDERS CARE WORKER ACCUSED OF REPEATEDLY ASSAULTING 91-YEAR-OLD DEMENTIA SUFFERER

THE case of a Bor­ders care worker accused of ill-treat­ing and wil­fully neg­lect­ing a 91-yearold demen­tia suf­ferer has been con­tin­ued until later this month.

Sixty-year-old Lind­sey Cass, of South Her­mit­age Street, New­castleton, is also charged with assault­ing the woman, who was in her care, to her injury by seiz­ing her by the body, caus­ing her to fall to the ground and drag­ging her along the ground.

The offences are alleged to have been com­mit­ted at a house in New­castleton between Septem­ber 1 and Septem­ber 12.

The case was con­tin­ued without plea at Jed­burgh Sher­iff Court on Tues­day until Janu­ary 22 when it will re-call at Selkirk Sher­iff Court.
