A man responsible for multiple assaults against his partner and for vandalizing her residence has received a custodial sentence.
Liam Thrower, aged 32, arrived at the woman's property in Arbury, Cambridge, around 6:10 am on November 2 of the previous year.
During the incident, he punched her, seized her phone and house keys, and tackled her to the ground.
He also covered her mouth with his arm, but she managed to escape and hid in a bin store until police arrived.
In addition to the assault, Thrower tore out a cooker from the kitchen and caused damage to a TV unit.
The victim reported to authorities that from June to October last year, Thrower had repeatedly damaged her phone, assaulted her on several occasions, including grabbing her by the throat, dragging her by her hair, and smashing her TV.
On May 1, at Cambridge Crown Court, Thrower, who was without a fixed address, was sentenced to 22 weeks in prison.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal damage, three counts of assault by beating, and one count of common assault.
