LIAM HALL'S BRUTAL CRIME IN CHILTON: COUNTY DURHAM CAGE FIGHTER'S SENTENCE INCREASED

Liam Hall, a 33-year-old cage fighter from Chilton, County Durham, has seen his prison sentence significantly lengthened following a series of violent assaults that shocked the local community and drew the attention of the judicial system. Originally sentenced in December to life imprisonment with a minimum term of eight years for a brutal attack on his partner and two young girls, the Court of Appeal has now increased this minimum to 10 years and eight months, deeming the original sentence to be unduly lenient given the severity of his actions.

Hall’s violent outburst occurred in September at his girlfriend’s residence in Chilton. The incident unfolded after Hall, who had recently been released from prison on licence for previous violent offences, was intoxicated and under the influence of drugs. Witnesses and court proceedings revealed that Hall was angry over losing his wallet, which appeared to trigger his violent rage. During this episode, he launched a prolonged and vicious assault on his 24-year-old girlfriend, who was upstairs with her two young children at the time.

According to court reports, Hall’s attack was characterized by a series of brutal acts. He punched, kicked, and choked his girlfriend, leaving her with multiple broken bones and serious facial injuries. The assault was so severe that she was left with injuries too numerous to count, including a broken eye socket, nose, and arm. A medical professional later described her injuries as extensive and life-altering. Despite the violence, Hall calmly walked out of the blood-spattered house, leaving his victims to deal with the aftermath.

In addition to attacking his girlfriend, Hall also turned his violence towards two 13-year-old girls present at the scene. The court heard that Hall, who stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 20 stone (127 kg), was in a highly intoxicated state. He banged one girl’s head against the wall and then grabbed the other girl, choking her unconscious. He also repeatedly punched her in the face and stamped on her, causing her to choke on her own blood. One of the victims later recounted her horror, describing how she was dragged upstairs by her hair after being knocked unconscious.

Hall’s history of violence is well-documented. He previously served time for manslaughter, and his recent actions in Chilton marked a disturbing escalation. The court heard that he had only been dating the woman for a few months before the attack, which added a layer of tragedy to the case. The two young girls, described as vulnerable and defenseless, suffered injuries that will likely have lasting effects. The court’s decision to increase Hall’s sentence underscores the gravity of his crimes and the need for justice for his victims.

Currently, Liam Hall is detained at HMP Ranby, awaiting the implementation of the new sentencing terms. The case has garnered significant media attention in County Durham, highlighting the dangers posed by individuals with violent histories and the importance of judicial review in ensuring appropriate punishment for such heinous acts.
