ABERDEEN MAN JAILED FOR STABBING AND ASSAULT DURING ROW

A young man involved in a violent altercation at a residence on Don Street, Old Aberdeen, has been sentenced to serve three years in prison for his actions.

The offender, Leyton Davies, aged 23, pleaded guilty to attacking a friend with a dumbbell bar and stabbing him four times during a heated argument over a backpack.

The incident resulted in serious injuries, including a head injury and multiple stab wounds to the leg.

CCTV footage reviewed in court showed the sequence of events, depicting Davies striking his victim on the head with a metal pole before stabbing him.

The court heard that Davies initially had the victim's knife, which he then used to inflict injuries.

Despite initial uncertainty over who possessed the knife, the prosecution confirmed through footage that it was the victim who first had the knife and dropped it, after which Davies picked it up and attacked.

The defense described Davies as remorseful and ashamed, noting that he had no prior convictions and acted impulsively.

The sheriff described the offences as serious and ordered Davies to be jailed for 36 months.

The court emphasized that although Davies did not bring the weapon, he used it during the assault, leading to his imprisonment.

Davies' behavior was linked to a dispute over personal belongings, which escalated into a violent attack that left his friend injured.
