Dundee Perth Sexual Abuser
Lewis McConnell, a 27-year-old man originally from Dundee, has been found guilty of serious criminal offenses involving the grooming and exploitation of underage girls in Scotland. The conviction was handed down at Perth Sheriff Court after a detailed trial that revealed disturbing patterns of predatory behavior during 2022, when McConnell was managing a Domino's pizza outlet in Perth.

During the court proceedings, it was disclosed that McConnell targeted three teenage girls, coercing them into sharing explicit photographs and videos. He exploited their vulnerabilities by promising to help them access alcohol, which they were otherwise too young to obtain legally. The court heard that McConnell’s manipulative tactics included pressuring the victims into sending nude images, often exchanging these images for favors or assistance, creating a disturbing cycle of exploitation.

Further evidence presented during the trial indicated that McConnell, who was actively preying on minors while working in Perth, also helped two particularly vulnerable teenagers who had run away from their homes. One of these victims testified that McConnell met with her with the apparent intent of engaging in unlawful sexual activity, raising serious concerns about his predatory conduct. Despite his origins in Dundee, McConnell’s criminal activities in Perth marked a dark chapter in his life.

Since the incidents, McConnell has lost his managerial position at a coffee shop in Edinburgh. He has since found employment as a delivery driver, but his criminal record now reflects the gravity of his offenses. Throughout the trial, McConnell maintained his innocence, claiming that his Snapchat account might have been hacked, which could explain the incriminating messages and images. His legal representative emphasized that McConnell has no prior criminal history and has not been involved in any trouble with the law since the incidents, which occurred over two years ago.

Despite his protests of innocence, the jury found McConnell guilty of multiple charges, including coercing three teenage girls into viewing and sending sexual images between January and October 2022. They also convicted him of meeting one girl with the intent of engaging in unlawful sexual activity. An additional allegation of sexual assault on another girl was not proven beyond reasonable doubt. The court heard detailed testimonies from the victims, who described frequent requests for nude images and the receipt of explicit photographs from McConnell. One victim recounted how he picked her up in Perth, drove her to buy a caffeinated vodka drink called Dragon Soop, and later sent her messages asking, “How are you going to repay me?” She admitted to sending him nude pictures once or twice, after which McConnell sent her explicit images of himself about five times.

In light of the evidence, the court concluded that McConnell’s actions involved persistent sexual coercion and exploitation. The evidence included sexual texts, explicit images, and videos of encounters, as well as accounts of him driving victims around Scotland and regularly requesting explicit images. The court emphasized that McConnell’s behavior was predatory and manipulative, targeting vulnerable teenagers.

Following his conviction, the sheriff sentenced McConnell to 300 hours of unpaid community work. She also imposed strict restrictions on his contact with minors, his internet usage, and ordered him to remain on the sex offenders register for two years. Additionally, McConnell was ordered to stay away from his victims and was issued a non-harassment order to prevent any further contact. Although McConnell continued to deny his involvement, claiming his Snapchat account may have been hacked, the jury’s verdict was clear, and the court took a firm stance against his criminal conduct.
