KITTEN KILLER JAILED AND BANNED FOR LIFE FROM KEEPING ANIMALS
A man known as a 'sadistic' kitten abuser has received a 27-month prison sentence, which the RSPCA states is among the longest ever given in such cases.Lewis Hudson, aged 23, from Netherley in Liverpool, subjected the kitten named Binx to eight months of cruelty from 2021 to 2022.
His abuse was severe enough to prompt an animal welfare specialist to question whether Binx had been hit by a vehicle.
Hudson’s brutal actions included shooting Binx with a BB gun, stamping on her with steel toe-cap boots, covering her in bleach, and hitting her with a shovel.
The kitten belonged to Hudson’s partner in Prescot, and on the day Binx was severely injured and later died Hudson had sent her hostile messages, including a warning that he would kill the animal if she did not return home.
The RSPCA inspector who examined Binx after the partner contacted police reported the cat was covered in cuts and bruises, with fractured ribs and a punctured lung, the latter of which resulted in her death.
Inspector Anthony Joynes described the cruelty as 'stomach churning and sadistic,' noting it was one of the most extreme cases he had encountered in 14 years, involving both physical harm and psychological torment.
Hudson pled guilty to two charges related to Binx and was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court to 27 months in prison.
Additionally, he was banned from keeping animals for life.
The court's sentence is regarded as one of the longest ever imposed under the Animal Welfare Act.
Judge Brian Cummings condemned Hudon’s actions as a 'sickening catalogue of cruelty' and ordered an extra five-month sentence, to run concurrently, for harassment related to putting a person in fear of violence.
