LEWIS COOK SHAMES COVE AND ABERDEEN WITH SEX OFFENSE AT KINCORTH HILL
In October 2018, a disturbing incident involving a local sex offender from Cove has come to light, culminating in a court sentencing that highlights the seriousness of his actions. Lewis Cook, aged 23, appeared before the court after admitting to a sexual misconduct charge that involved exposing himself to two teenage girls at Kincorth Hill, a well-known outdoor area in Aberdeen.According to court records, the incident took place on July 4, when Cook intentionally revealed his genitals in a sexual manner to the two secondary school-aged girls. The court heard that Cook's actions were deliberate and aimed at shocking or intimidating the young victims, causing significant distress.
Lewis Cook's address was listed as Loirston Way, Cove, during the proceedings. The court, presided over by Sheriff Ian Wallace, took a stern stance on the matter. As part of his sentence, Cook was ordered to complete 90 hours of unpaid community work, a measure intended to serve as both punishment and a form of rehabilitation.
Furthermore, the court mandated that Cook be placed under supervision for a period of 12 months. During this time, he is required to participate in the Aberdeenshire Sex Offenders’ Programme, which aims to address behavioral issues and prevent future offenses. Additionally, Cook was subjected to the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders’ Act for a year, meaning he must regularly update authorities about his whereabouts and comply with other legal obligations.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts by local authorities to address and prevent sexual offenses, especially those involving vulnerable minors. The community of Cove and Aberdeen are reminded of the importance of vigilance and the legal system’s commitment to safeguarding its residents from such harmful conduct.
