EAST LOTHIAN MAN SQUEEZED EX-PARTNER'S NECK DURING ATTACK AT HER HOME
A man from the County area physically assaulted his ex-partner at her residence in Edinburgh.Lewis Burton shoved the woman against a wall by her shoulders before grabbing her by the throat and applying pressure during the assault on February 22 of last year.
Burton, who resides on Westbank Terrace in Macmerry, also struck the victim multiple times on the head, causing an injury.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to the attack at an address in Muirhouse when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.
He faced charges under section 1 of the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016, with the offence being considered more serious because it involved the abuse of a partner or ex-partner.
Sheriff Douglas Keir postponed sentencing to next month to allow for social work reports to be compiled.
