DOMESTIC ABUSER HANDED £50 FINE AND 21 DAYS IN CUSTODY
A man named Leon Lincoln, aged 27, of Gateford Road, Worksop, has been prosecuted for breaching a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) twice.
The first incident occurred when officers carried out a welfare check on July 6 at his ex-partner's residence in Bassetlaw, where Lincoln was found trying to escape after officers arrived.
He attempted to hide in the loft and attempted to flee by jumping over a garden fence before being arrested.
For this breach, he was fined £50 and ordered to pay £100 in costs.
The following week, on July 14, police responded again to the same address after Lincoln was found hiding in a loft space.
He was detained after police talked him down.
Lincoln admitted to breaching the DVPO a second time and appeared in Nottingham Magistrates' Court on July 15, where he was sentenced to 21 days in custody.
The case highlights the importance of protection orders and the police's commitment to enforcing them to protect victims.
Detective Sergeant Lucy Ward emphasized the force's stance against violence and the consequences offenders face when they violate such orders.
