HORBURY MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR RAPE AND ASSAULT
A man named Lennox Lewis Selby has been sentenced to ten and a half years in jail after admitting to raping and assaulting a woman.
The sentencing occurred at Leeds Crown Court, with Selby, aged 25 and from Horbury near Wakefield, pleading guilty on the first day of his trial.
The offences, which included rape, sexual assault, and common assault, took place earlier in the year, leading to his arrest in March following police contact.
The police, including Det Insp Vanessa Rolfe from the Wakefield District Adult Safeguarding Unit, conducted a thorough investigation that resulted in a substantial custodial sentence for Selby.
The victim demonstrated bravery in supporting the prosecution, and officers emphasized that all sexual offences are taken very seriously by Wakefield Police, with a focus on treating victims with discretion and sympathy.
