LEIGH BULLIMORE FROM BRANT BROUGHTON SENTENCED FOR INDECENT IMAGES TO SCHOOLGIRL IN NOTTINGHAM
In a case that has drawn significant attention, Leigh Bullimore, a 32-year-old man from Brant Broughton, has been subjected to a supervision order after engaging in the disturbing act of sending indecent images to a schoolgirl via social media platforms.According to proceedings at Nottingham Crown Court on a recent Friday, the incident began when Bullimore first established contact with the young girl, who has been protected by legal restrictions from being identified.
The initial communication reportedly took place at a social gathering in the previous year, where the two exchanged messages that would later lead to criminal charges.
Over the course of four days, Bullimore and the girl continued their online interaction, exchanging both messages and explicit images.
The prosecutor, Miss Dawn Pritchard, revealed that the situation came to light when the girl’s father discovered the messages on her device and promptly reported the matter to law enforcement authorities.
During the court hearing, Miss Pritchard detailed that Bullimore, who resides on Meeting House Lane in Brant Broughton, had made inappropriate comments about the girl’s appearance, describing her as “sexy,” and there was also mention of oral sex within the exchanged messages.
These revelations underscored the seriousness of the case and the breach of trust involved.
Bullimore admitted at an earlier hearing to causing or inciting a child aged 14 to participate in pornography, a charge that reflects the gravity of his actions and the vulnerability of the young girl involved.
In delivering his judgment, Recorder Mr.
Peter Cooke acknowledged Bullimore’s background, noting that he is “effectively of good character” and that his age and previous service in the military were relevant factors.
However, he emphasized that the communication was flirtatious and involved indecent images, which is particularly concerning given the girl’s age.
Mr.
Cooke also addressed Bullimore’s mental health, stating, “You are a man who served his country but you have problems with depression because of stuff you witnessed in Iraq that you have not laid to rest.” As a result, Bullimore was sentenced to a three-year supervision order.
This order mandates his participation in a community sex offender group programme and requires him to be registered as a sex offender for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and support to prevent future offenses.
