FOREST GATE RAPIST LEE MILES JAILED FOR TODDLER SEX ABUSE
A man from Forest Gate, Sheffield, who sexually violated a young child, has been given a prison sentence.Lee Miles, aged 51 and formerly residing on Studley Road, was sentenced at Basildon Crown Court on April 18 after Essex Police’s child abuse investigation team spent three years probing the case.
The inquiry started in July 2021 following a detailed report of multiple serious sexual assaults involving a young boy in Southend.
Miles was taken into custody the next month and denied all accusations, which related to offenses spanning more than four years.
He faced charges including four counts of child rape, two counts of sexual activity in the presence of a child, two counts of causing a child to observe a sexual act, and two counts of sexual assault against a child under 13.
After a trial lasting a week, Miles was convicted on nine counts, with one charge of causing a child to view a sexual act being dismissed.
He received an 18-year prison sentence, along with an additional four-year extended license.
Additionally, the judge ordered him to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order.
PC Michael Budd, who oversaw the investigation, commented: “The young victim was just a toddler when subjected to this appalling abuse by Miles.
Understanding the full extent of his crimes has been challenging, but I hope the victim and their family can now move forward, knowing he is behind bars and cannot harm any more children.
I am grateful for the courage shown by the victim and their family, whose patience during this three-year investigation has been crucial in removing a dangerous individual from society.”
